Happy Apple Week and Homework Scoop
Math Homework Scoop ~ The math homework paper today mentions using bear counters and connecting cubes. I would not expect that you have these at home, so please just have your kiddo make a marker/crayon pattern. Thanks so much!

Reading Centers, Mystery Reader, and Book Buddies
In reading groups, I instruct students in a small group and then one kiddo stays with me to practice.
The others have a special spot where they go and whisper read their books.

Hat Day Tomorrow and Writer's Workshop Smelly Folders...
As many of you know, the Lindbergh family suffered a great loss last week. Maci Gapsch, a 6th grader at Sperreng, passed away from injuries sustained in a fire at her family's home. Her father and great-grandmother also passed away. Sadly, her mother died a couple of years ago. Mia, an 8th grader, is the sole survivor in the family. This loss has impacted many of us. As always, the Lindbergh family has come together to support this family during this most difficult time. There are a variety of fundraisers happening around the district over the next few weeks. One way Concord has decided to help is to participate in a district-wide hat day. So, tomorrow, Friday, we are encouraging students to wear a hat to school and bring a donation for the family. We are asking for a minimum of $1. Please help us support this family.
Check out our smelly folders...
