Please do not worry if your kiddo doesn't know many of these words. We have only covered the the first week of words (I, like, see). I just want you to have what's coming. My intent is not to stress you out. We will cover these at school, and great if you want to practice them at home, too!
When playing SNAP, it's always great to start with a few words that your child knows, and then add just a few that they don't know (rather than trying to play with a whole bunch of words at one time that they don't know - that could take the fun right out of the game).
We did not get a chance to visit the library today.
Please send books back to school tomorrow so we can check out new books.
It’s Talent Show Time for Cooksey's Kiddos!
As part of our I Can Do Anything unit this week, we
will be having a class talent show.
Talents might be singing a song, doing a magic trick, jumping rope,
counting to ten in Spanish, or any other clever thing that your talented kiddos
can do. Our talent show schedule is:
Wednesday ~ Mrs. Cooksey
Thursday ~ Lily, Charlie, Muhannad, Nico, Sam, Armin, Ryker, Thomas, Kate M., Gabe, Serah
Once you can read those words, you'll see them popping up all over the place!!
Flashcards will be coming home in a few days. I am assessing your kiddos on which words they currently know, and will send you home that information as well.
Each month we will have a few kiddos represent our class on the CLC (Concord Leadership Council). This month Lily and Sam are our reps. Lily and Sam, you can wear your red character shirts tomorrow to show that you are our representatives. Everyone will get a turn. :)
We have finished our Robert Munsch author study (did your kiddo tell you about onomatopoeia???), and have started enjoying a new author! Watch and find out who it is...
Perfect Lip Poppin' P
ask your kiddo how to make that lip poppin' sound...
Library Scoop ~ If your kiddo did not bring back a library book today, no worries at all, but please just send it back next Tuesday for our next opportunity to check out books. Kids get their own books out of their backpacks at our library time, so the easiest place to put the book is in the main big pocket. That way they can find it right away without digging around. Thanks for your support!
This is a free app that works like a dry erase board with a camera feature.
Can you see Oliver's name? It's written all over his face!!!
It Was All Yellow...
In Writer's Workshop we got our own letter charts in our writing folders today! We looked back at some of our older pieces and practiced using letter sounds to write labels on our writing. These labels will help us teach others about what we are writing. FUN STUFF!!!
